Main Page --- (Click to view full size image)
This is the main page displaying all of the books and documents you have loaded. The Library menu allows you to browse your audiobooks/audio and your news feeds the in a similar fashion. The bookstore menu allows access to the digital bookstore, and Travel will open up your map functions, discussed further down.
This is the typical view of a single document page.
Page turning with our device is actually page scrolling, done via touch-screen. Two fingers on the screen allows you to scroll up and down through the text. The page separations are kept to allow the reader the familiarity of seeing their progress and current place.
Double-tapping allows the reader to pull up the reading tools, which consist of the highlighting option, a dictionary, a translator, and bookmarking.
To highlight information on a page, just select the highlight button from the Reading tools menu described above, and drag your finger over the areas that you want to highlight. Deselect the highlight button when you are finished.
This is a page accessable from the Library menu on the top, on the right side. This page displays all the highlights you have made, and the date they were made. Tapping on each entry brings you back to the context in which the information was highlighted.
The travel tab gives you access to the map function that displays information from GPS about bus locations, and your current location. Once you have entered in or selected from previously saved destinations, it will show the location of the next bus you can take, and the estimated time of arrival.
This is an alert provided by the travel function, for those who enjoy reading while at the bus stop. This allows them to read without having to look up to check for buses coming. When their bus is almost there, the reader will notify them.
Similar to the bus approaching function, the stop approaching alert is for when you are nearly at your destination. It also includes vibration which can be turned on or off, to alert you if you've fallen asleep.
Bluetooth Bus Pass
The Starburst Reader features bus passes using bluetooth to send your photo and pass information to a monitor installed on the bus so that you do not have to dig out your pass card, or even your reader!
Motion Sickness Control
Specialized tones offered with the reader help those who suffer from motion sickness to disspiate their nausea for a calm, sickness-free reading environment.
